Internship Opportunities

We're seeking college students in the NYC area to intern at Hoodstars. Students can choose from editorial or marketing internships depending on experience and interest.

This is a fantastic opportunity for hands-on experience in online media, marketing and writing/editing as well as social networking and Web 2.0 platform. You will not be buying coffee or filing! This is the real deal.

Marketing interns will . . .
-Connect with members of the site and other social networks to publicize the site
-Pitch and produce content for web broadcasts and weblogs
-Maintain an online presence in daily chat sessions with users
-Attend local events and concerts to spread the word about Hoodstars

Editorial interns should have experience blogging and should be knowledgeable about current trends in hip-hop and the urban market. You will be writing (fun and relevant!) content every day and must synthesize information to make it relatable to our audience.

You must be a college student (minimum 18 years old) with prior blogging/writing experience. This is an unpaid part-time internship, but course credit is available . . . and you’ll receive a Metrocard for daily travel and refreshments while you’re in the office. Hours are flexible depending on interns’ availability.

Street Team Assignment 2

Thanks to all the members that completed assignment 1! The next assignment is really important and will help us get the word out about Hoodstars.com.

1) On each of the other social network sites you use (MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, etc.), put your Hoodstars site URL in the profile/general info section.

To prove you have completed the assignment you will need to email streetteam@hoodstars.com screen shots of the URL and/or web banner added to each of your other pages.

To take a screenshot of your assignment, you hit the "PrtScn/SysRq" key located in the upper right corner of your keyboard (it's usually above the "insert" key) and then open Paint, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Corel, or any photo editing program you have and paste (Ctrl +V) the screen shot into the program. Then save the file as a jpeg, pdf or png file and email it to streetteam@hoodstars.com.

Each part of this assignment is worth 5 points. If you have multiple social network sites and add your Hoodstars URL and/or banner to each site you will be rewarded 5 points/site per URL and button. (for example: adding the Hoodstars URL to MySpace page = 5pts, adding the web banner to MySpace = 5 pts, adding URL to Facebook = 5 pts, adding web button to Facebook = 5 pts, for a total of 20 pts.)

In order to receive full credit for this assignment the screen shot must be clear and you must complete it by Friday, April 25 at 6p.m.

Hello, hello!

To kick things off we want to know more about you. Please respond to the following questions and leave your answers in the comments by Wednesday, April 9.

2) What websites or blogs do you visit the most?

3) What type of music do you enjoy listening to? Who are your favorite artists or bands?
